Julie Brin

Julie Ann Baker Brin has two middle names (not two last names like normal people; long story). By day, she works in broadcasting: not behind a mic, but behind red tape. By night, she likes to expose her other brain hemisphere to creative endeavors. Julie has lived in Kansas since 1993 and was honored to be named 2023 Kansas Authors Club Poet of the Year. She’s currently the Vice President of the Wichita chapter of KAC. Julie’s first full-length poetry book, The Sigh and Flutter, was published by AnamCara Press, Summer, 2026, the culmination of winning ACP’s 2024 Amity Literary Prize. It won a Fall, 2026 1st Place Contemporary Poetry award from The BookFest. JulieBrin.org showcases some of her award-winning work and pieces featured in journals throughout the Great Plains. Her favorite way to cook is to pick up carryout from a locally owned restaurant, and she’s a happy dog mom who wants to be a happy dog in a happy ranch home in her next life.
