A poet-immigrant, Joanna Kurowska has lived in the US since 1988. She is the author of five books of poetry: The Butterfly’s Choice (Broadstone Books, forthcoming 2015), Inclusions (Cervena Barva Press; forthcoming 2013), The Wall & Beyond (eLectio Publishing 2013); Ściana : The Wall (1997; in Polish) nd Obok : Near (1999; in Polish), 1999.
Kurowska’s poems and fiction have appeared or are forthcoming in American and European journals such as American Tanka, Ancient Paths, Apple Valley Review, Atticus Review, Bateau, Christianity & Literature, Concise Delight, Dappled Things, Fraza (Poland), The Green Door (Belgium), Illuminations, International Poetry Review, Journal of Ordinary Thought, Kultura (Paris), Levure littéraire, Off the Coast, Oklahoma Review, Pisarze.pl (Poland), Poetry Nook Magazine, Room Magazine, Solo Novo, Strong Verse, Tipton Poetry Journal, Time of Singing, Vine Leaves Poetry Journal, Vineyards, and Write From Wrong.
Kurowska holds a Ph.D. in literature and her critical works have appeared in Anglican Theological Review, The Conradian (UK), Slavic and East European Journal, New Pages, Religion And The Arts, Sarmatian Review, Southern Quarterly, and elsewhere. Joanna Kurowska now lives in Evanston, Illinois.
