Carole Shmurak BIO PICDr. Carole Shmurak is the author of eleven books. Originally a biology and chemistry teacher, she is currently Professor Emerita at Central Connecticut State University.  Deadmistress, her first mystery, introduced amateur sleuth Professor Susan Lombardi, and was named a Notable Book of 2004 by Writers Notes Magazine.  Death by Committee and Death at Hilliard High followed. Her latest book, Most Likely to Murder, takes Susan back to her hometown for a high school reunion. As Carroll Thomas, she co-authored the Matty Trescott novels, one of which was nominated for the Agatha for best YA mystery of 2001.  Carole leads mystery groups at the Farmington, Simsbury, Southington, and Wallingford libraries in Connecticut.
